Communities We Serve
Reinvest Birmingham serves four communities in Birmingham that have historically had limited access to quality jobs, workforce training, and economic resources. We connect residents to workforce training through partners like Lawson State Community College, plus direct links to employers actively hiring. Entrepreneurs get coaching and a dedicated Entrepreneurship Center, while new childcare and transit options remove barriers for parents and caregivers. Every service is delivered by people who know your neighborhood.
01
North Birmingham
North Birmingham has long been a working community home to industrial employers and generations of skilled workers. Reinvest connects residents to workforce training and career pathways in the trades and industries that have always been part of this neighborhood’s DNA.
02
Northside
One of Birmingham’s longest standing neighborhoods, Northside is home to some of the city’s oldest and most historic commercial and civic buildings. Sitting at the edge of a growing economic corridor, the community is seeing new businesses and public investment arrive, and Reinvest Birmingham is here to ensure residents can access that momentum through job training, employer connections, and support services.
03
Pratt
A community whose history blends industrial boom and bust with deep community legacy, Pratt has shown extraordinary resilience. Reinvest Birmingham meets residents where they are with training, entrepreneur resources, and wraparound support whether you’re entering the workforce, returning after a gap, or building something of your own.
04
Smithfield
The Smithfield community is a neighborhood shaped by entrepreneurs, activists, and working families who built a lasting legacy. Reinvest honors that legacy with a commitment to career pathways, job training, and the resources residents need to write the next chapter.
